MONOGRAPHIE * K.D.
* ISBN: 978-3-8376-6763-9 * voraussichtlicher Erscheinungstermin: September 2023 * https://www.transcript-verlag.de

Critical and Clinical Cartographies rethinks medical and design pedagogies in the context of both the Affective and Digital Turns that are occurring under the umbrella of New Materialism. This collection is framed through Deleuze's symptomalogical approach which creates the ideal terrain for architecture and medical technologies of care to meet with robotics, alongside the newly emerging 'materialist landscape'. * https://edinburghuniversitypress.com/book-critical-and-clinical-cartographies.html

SPEAKER SORBONNE NOUVELLE PARIS 2017
CONFERENCE PAPER »Amplified Bodies and Digital Aesthetic« at Sensibiltiy and the Senses, Media, Bodies, Practices. NECS European Network for Cinema and Media Studies und Sorbonne Nouvelle Paris.
The question of the relationship between media, bodies, and the senses cuts across the entire history of media theories. Since their first appearance, technical media such as telegraphy, photography, gramophone, film, typewriter, the telephone, radio, and then television, computer, internet, as well as a wide variety of cultural techniques for the recording, processing, and transmitting of information have been analyzed taking into consideration their relationships with the human body and its sensory organs. Concepts such as “organ projection,” “prosthesis,” “innervation,” “extension,” and “interface” have been used to describe the contact and the interaction between human organisms and technical apparatuses with their various degrees of hybridization, which in turn have generated a whole series of utopian and dystopian visions of a future “post-human” condition. info

What is the relation between the human body as a living organism and the machine technologies applied in medical care? Organized around four thematics – embodiment, technology, care and design-, the Critical and Clinical Carthopgrahies Conference evoked the practice of cartography as a means to map the elusive and shifting thresholds between the organic and the inorganic, the innate and the acquired. Critical and Clinical Carthographies arises from a transdisciplinary conference organized by the Theory Section and Hyperbody of the TU Delft Architecture Department in cooperation with the Bio Mechatronics and Bio Robotics Section of the Department of Bio Mechanical Engineering, TU Delft. https://www.japsambooks.nl/products/critical-and-clinical-cartographies

CONFERENCE PAPER »Weiße Wand und schwarzes Loch: Mikropolitik des unentdeckten Gesichts« at Innen. Außen. Anders. Körper im Werk von Gilles Deleuze und Michel Foucault. CONFERENCE ORGANISERS Ann-Cathrin Drews und Katharina D. Martin an der Kunstakademie Münster.
Both Gilles Deleuze and Michel Foucault were intensely engaged with aspects of the body. In particular, their critical drafts of aesthetics as much as their political thinking are based on conceptions of the body and corporeality. Deleuze's body is flexible, fleshy and abstract at the same time. Following Spinoza, in asking what the body can do, he unfolds his theory of becoming, becoming animal, becoming other. The potentiality of the body is revealed here as being in a state of nomadism and constant transformation. Foucault first of all attends to the body within his analytical investigations of power relations. In his late works and under the heading of an “Aesthetics of Existence“ he reformulates his thematic constellation between subject, truth and power. info
